Ingredients / Composition
Each 5ml contains 3.1 microlitres of liquid extract from squill bulb and 2.5 microlitres of capsicum oleoresin tincture. Other ingredients include acacia powder, caramel colour (E150), ethanol, levomenthol, clove oil, peppermint oil, sodium methyl hydroxybenzoate (E219), sodium propyl hydroxybenzoate (E217), aniseed flavour, purified water, carmoisine (E122), Sunset Yellow (E110), strong ginger tincture, acetic acid, saccharin sodium, partial invert syrup containing sucrose, fructose and glucose, and potassium sorbate.
Directions
For oral use only. Shake the bottle before use. Adults, elderly people and children over 12 years should take two 5ml spoonfuls three times daily and at bedtime if the cough is troublesome. Do not use for more than one week or exceed the stated dose.
Warnings / Storage
- Not suitable for children under 12 years.
- Do not take during pregnancy or while breastfeeding.
- Do not use if allergic to any ingredient or to menthol.
- Contains 2.3% ethanol and may impair the ability to drive or operate machinery. Do not drive or use machinery if affected.
- Do not take with medicines known to interact with alcohol, including metronidazole.
- Contains sucrose, fructose and glucose. Consult a doctor before use if you have an intolerance to some sugars.
- Carmoisine, Sunset Yellow and the hydroxybenzoate preservatives may cause allergic reactions.
- Seek medical advice if symptoms worsen, persist after one week, or are accompanied by difficulty breathing, fever or blood in the saliva.
- Always read the carton and enclosed patient information leaflet before use.
